Catherine Bearder MEP is leading the charge against proposals from Tanzania and Zambia to be allowed to have a "one-off" sale of their ivory stocks.

Studies following these "one-off" sales of ivory have shown that there is an increase in poaching in the run up to the sale.

I am backing Catherine Bearder's campaign to stop the sale of any elephant tusks proposed by Tanzania and Zambia in contravention of the CITES 9 year moratorium on the sale of all elephant products and wish to see permanent protection of elephants under the law
