Drapers Field with all-weather pitch in the distance
Waltham Forest Council has agreed in principle to the lease of Drapers Field to the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) for 16 months.
Drapers Field has an all-weather Sports pitch and playing field, as well as an Arts and Drama Centre.
9,000 people use the all-weather pitch and playing field every month. Norlington School use it 4 days a week for physical education.
The ODA has said it may use Drapers Field as a high security holding area for provisions during the Games. There has been a rumour that it could be used as a VIP car park.
The Labour Leader of the Council, Chris Robbins has intimated that Drapers Field could be turned into "a very special park".
I, the undersigned, call upon Waltham Forest Council to keep Drapers Field available for use by local residents as a sports field.
